I know Dark Side Of The Moon is their biggest selling album but what is your next favorite album? My favorite is the meddle album.

I love the song Comfortably Numb a lot. For me, it stands out of the entire album.

It is probably fair to say that comfortably numb is Dave Gilmore's best work, while mother is more typical of Roger Water's songwriting.

Yes Animals is a good album but it took me three or four listens before I got into it.
I could see that. I’ve been a PF fan for years but Animals was a later discovery for me, in terms of it becoming a favorite/one that I listen to regularly.

This live recording from 1975 in New York was while they were promoting Animals. Most if not all the tracks are on it.

Awesome. I’ll give this a listen. I love the earlier renditions of Dogs and Sheep (under their working titles), just to hear differences in lyrics, guitar riffs, all of it.

What do you think about their later albums? I like the division bell but only now and again. What do you want from me is probably my favorite track.

I have a certain nostalgic feeling for MLOR, even though it’s probably not a great album, as it was my intro to the band. I really like the tracks Sorrow, Learning to Fly, Terminal Frost, and On the Turning Away from that album. Division Bell is a decent album - What Do You Want From Me, Marooned, High Hopes, and Poles Apart are my favorites. I never listen to either of those albums in their entirety, or at least I haven’t in years. The Division Bell tour was the only time I saw the band live in concert. I have listened to The Endless River but not enough to really form a strong opinion.

For sure the songwriting isn’t as strong on the post-Roger Waters albums, but the soul of the band is still there. David Gilmour remains my all-time favorite guitarist, and I often preferred his vocals to Roger’s.

With the exception of the title track, I don't rate wish you were too highly. The first track is really slow to get started but not too bad when it gets going but the have a cigar song is a bit silly imo.
